Titanium Grade 5, also known as Ti-6Al-4V, is the most widely used titanium alloy, accounting for more than 50% of total titanium usage worldwide. It contains 6% Aluminum and 4% Vanadium, which provide an excellent balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and workability. Known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, this alloy is significantly stronger than commercially pure titanium while maintaining good toughness and ductility.
Grade 5 titanium offers exceptional resistance to corrosion in seawater, chloride solutions, and a variety of industrial chemical environments. It can be heat-treated for improved mechanical properties and is easily weldable, making it versatile across demanding industries.
