Invar 36 Sheets and Plates, also referred to as Nilo® 36 or Alloy 36, are high-performance materials widely used in industries where dimensional stability is critical. Sunshine Industry manufactures and supplies Invar 36 Sheets and Plates in various specifications including UNS K90600 and 1.3912. The product range is available in different sizes and types to cater to diverse industrial needs across India and globally.
INVAR 36 Sheets are composed of 36% nickel and iron alloy, known for exhibiting near-zero thermal expansion. This makes them highly stable in temperature ranges from -100°C to 200°C—about one-tenth the expansion rate of carbon steel. These plates also provide exceptional toughness and strength at cryogenic temperatures, making them ideal for low-temperature environments like scientific instruments and aerospace structures.
Sunshine Industry produces Invar 36 Plates in both hot-rolled and cold-rolled forms, including chequered and shim sheets. The UNS K90600 Sheets are available in two grades: the standard low-expansion alloy and a Free-Cut variant for better machinability. These are often enhanced with trace elements like selenium to meet productivity demands in machining environments while maintaining excellent mechanical and dimensional performance.
K-90603 and K-93050 Sheets from Sunshine Industry are widely appreciated for their abrasion, oxidation, and corrosion resistance. These sheets offer excellent performance in extreme conditions and are used in bimetal thermostats, positioning devices, and aerospace composite molds. Their resistance to seizing and galling adds to their versatility for critical components in LNG tankers, optical devices, and other temperature-sensitive applications.
